Four days. One dead writer. One live night.

Friday, August 21 is the night. The restored cut of Retracing the Footsteps of David Goodis plays start to finish — the grade rebuilt, the covers rescanned, the sound put back together from nothing so you can actually hear the man’s words over the rain.
Then we talk. Lou Boxer of NoirCon comes on to get into who Goodis was and why France still calls him a master while the country that made him mostly forgot. After that, actors read a scene from UNDERBELLY, my new noir — a cab driver, a runaway, a gun, and rain that will not quit.
It runs on Zoom, it is free, and the documentary is already up on Vimeo if you want to walk in knowing the streets. Bring your own bourbon.
It premieres live on Zoom, Friday, August 21 at 7:30pm CT — co-hosted by Lou Boxer of NoirCon, closing with a live table read of Ed’s new noir UNDERBELLY.
